Planning commission recommends rezoning for trade‑worker office and outdoor storage on Phillips Dairy Road

The Putnam County Planning Commission unanimously recommended approval of REZ25000015, a zoning map amendment for 1.77 acres at 147 Phillips Dairy Road in Palatka from Commercial Retail (C2) to Commercial General (C3) to permit a trade‑worker office and outdoor storage.
Michael Graves, planning and development services, presented the staff report and said the site is designated Commercial in the comprehensive plan, is not in a FEMA special flood hazard area, and does not contain NWI‑mapped wetlands. "Staff recommends approval of the request to amend the zoning map from commercial retail C2 to commercial general C3," Graves said.
Applicant Del Havreland said he plans to build storage warehouses with a small office or showroom to support local tradesmen and that Putnam County is ‘‘an up and coming county’’ for that type of business. There were no public comments for or against the request.
A commissioner moved to approve the rezoning as consistent with the comprehensive plan; the motion passed unanimously and will be forwarded as the commission’s recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners for the Jan. 27 meeting.
