Facilities staff updated the Montgomery ISD Board on Dec. 16 about progress and remaining work on projects funded by the 2022 bond.
The presenter said many buildings and renovations are complete and that the district is near the end of punch lists on several campuses. At Montgomery High School, patio work is complete and furniture deliveries are pending; athletic lighting is operating and other mechanical items were addressed after recent rooftop and chiller work. Staff reported package closeouts and a $298,000 credit to the district on one project package.
An outstanding technical issue involves an outdoor elevator shaft at the athletic complex: inspectors and the installer indicated the shaft must be conditioned to keep mechanical components within an operational temperature range, and staff planned further contractor discussions. Staff also outlined remaining minor punch items such as signage and tile work at various campuses and described plans to bring furniture packages to the board for approval in January and cafeteria table replacements in February.
Trustees were told the district remained under budget on multiple packages, enabling additional work not in the original bond scope, such as ballpark cages and weight-room equipment at Montgomery High School. Staff said the goal is to wrap up final punch-list items in the spring and continue closeouts with vendors and regulatory agencies as needed.
