Council recognizes resident for helping neighbor, honors students and announces New Year fireworks

The City Council recognized Mr. Drakeford after Speaker 1 invited him forward and Speaker 2 said, "Titus actually went above and beyond" by helping an elderly person get safely home in cold weather. The council presented recognition for that action.
Speaker 1 also recognized students who won a gingerbread house contest at the elementary school and noted local school performance: "The Bruton Elementary School is an A. The Bruton Middle School is an A also ... Miller High School is an A," with a cited score referenced as "94." Students were invited forward to receive tokens of recognition and Speaker 4 offered praise.
Speaker 1 closed by wishing attendees a Merry Christmas and announcing a fireworks show scheduled for 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 1 at Jennings Park before adjourning the meeting.
