The Upper Dublin policy committee reviewed proposed updates to graduation requirements (policy 02/17) and administrative numbering on Dec. 10 and agreed to forward the substantive items to the legislative meeting.
Speaker 2 explained that policy 02/17 had been discussed at the previous meeting and that high school administrators had reviewed the proposed changes; the draft now reflects a minimum of 24 credits for graduating classes because the prior phased-in language has expired. A staff member acknowledged an error in the meeting materials: an outdated AR attached to 02/17 had not been updated and would be corrected before legislative review.
Separately, staff proposed renumbering the current 827 to 829 to free 827 for a new consolidated policy (see conflict-of-interest consolidation). The committee agreed the renumbering is administrative and does not change policy substance.
Staff also noted an informational AR update to 02/22 to align administrative regulations with policy language that includes electronic smoking products in permission for prosecution; the committee did not move 02/22 forward because it was information-only.
Committee members indicated consensus to forward 02/17 and the renumbering recommendation to the legislative meeting for legal review and formal action.
