State changes leave CCP free to reshape annual plan; Nevada County staff to propose new format

Jeff Goldman reported a June 27, 2025 letter from the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) informing counties that, following a recent budget/assembly bill, the state will no longer require or collect CCP plans in the prior format.
Goldman said the change gives Nevada County flexibility to prepare a locally useful report emphasizing what the CCP funds and the outcomes of those programs, rather than following the former state template. He suggested the county could adopt a “state of the CCP” format that lists funded programs and measurable outcomes to better fit local needs.
Members discussed tradeoffs: leaving the old plan unchanged would minimize staff workload, while redesigning the report could make reporting more relevant to local decision‑making but would require more staff time from probation and other departments. Goldman noted he would circulate examples from other counties and recommended a discussion at the next meeting to decide whether to redesign the annual plan or keep the existing format.
No formal vote was taken; staff will circulate sample formats and return recommendations.
