Packet materials included a memorandum from the town planner recommending pursuit of the acquisition and noted Board of Finance action regarding supplemental appropriations.
The council resolved to refer the purchase to the special town meeting and approved a supplemental appropriation to be funded from the town’s unassigned fund balance as described in the meeting materials. The council also appointed Scott Kaufman as moderator and Kevin Connors as the alternate moderator for the Jan. 29 meeting and read the legal notice into the record, which included a detailed property description and authorization for the town manager to execute necessary purchase documents if the meeting approves the acquisition.
The vote to schedule the special town meeting and approve the call passed unanimously in roll call. The item will return to voters for action at the special meeting on Jan. 29.
