Planner Frances Leon Sharpe presented the second reading, noting the house’s Craftsman bungalow architectural features (fluted porch columns, preserved wood floors, original cabinetry and interior woodwork) and three mature live oak trees on the parcel. Staff found the application consistent with landmark criteria and commissioners spoke in praise of the owners’ preservation efforts and the house’s contribution to community character.
The roll-call vote recorded aye votes from the mayor and commissioners; the ordinance becomes effective as provided in its language.
