The Glendale Common Council approved two related lease actions at the Rangeline Road water-tower property.
First, the council authorized a first amendment to the existing rooftop lease with T‑Mobile, extending the current agreement for the water-tower-mounted collocation. Staff said the amendment keeps the same rent (around $1,800 per month) with 10% annual escalators, which staff estimated at about $21,600 in revenue in the first year under the amended term.
Separately, the council approved a multiyear standalone lease with BTS Towers for a pole at the same location. Staff described that agreement as a five-year initial term with multiple successive renewal terms, rent of $2,500 per month, 10% annual increases and a one-time execution payment noted in the record (transcript shows $5,000). Council members asked about eventual removal of rooftop mounts and about visual screening; staff said the standalone pole is a small, low-visibility pole sited behind the surgical center and Aurora Medical Center and would not be conspicuous from the road.
Both lease motions were moved and approved during the meeting.
