The Town of Charlton Board of Health received an update Dec. 9 that the pre-construction meeting for the Flint Road Landfill is pending and will be scheduled by the contractor. Unidentified Speaker 3 said the contractor (Bruce) will pick the meeting date after confirming contract paperwork and that the town will post the meeting so any board member and the public may attend.

Officials said the pre-construction meeting will cover logistics the board expects to check: site clearing and equipment staging, hydrant location for water supply, fence removal, and road and traffic safety. The transcript notes staff plan to invite Nick Peel to discuss traffic and road safety and to include finance staff in the kickoff so budget issues can be addressed.

Unidentified Speaker 3 described next steps: "They're waiting for the pre construction meeting that we'll post as soon as Bruce decides the date," and said the town had sent the signed original contract and Bruce confirmed receipt. The speaker added Bruce wants to meet either between Christmas and New Year's or shortly after so work can begin in early January.
