Director Debbie Ann Anderson (Department of Human Services) told the board the department has 18 resolutions and, when asked about cold-weather sheltering, said, "To date, it's over 15 days," referring to Code Blue activations this season. Anderson explained the county activates Code Blue and provides shelter any time temperatures drop below 32 degrees.
The disclosure came during a department presentation in which commissioners expressed appreciation for programs that provide housing and emergency shelter to people without homes. Anderson offered to answer questions and outlined that the department is in a busy season with repeated activations.
The meeting also included short presentations from Elections (Administrator Dorado, nine resolutions), the Prosecutor's Office (first assistant James Tancy, six items), Economic Development (Deputy County Manager/Director Amy Wagner, two resolutions), Finance (Director Taylor, seven resolutions) and County Manager Omen (one item). After departmental presentations the board moved to close the agenda‑setting session: Commissioner Mirabella moved to close the session, Commissioner Granados seconded, and the Clerk recorded affirmations and carried the motion for the agenda‑setting portion of the meeting. Commissioners then agreed to a 10‑minute recess before the regular meeting reconvened.
