Chesterfield County Council approved an extension of an emergency ordinance that temporarily halts issuance of permits for establishment of mobile‑home parks, RV parks and new subdivisions while the county finalizes ordinance revisions with PD COG and staff.
Staff and council clarified the moratorium applies to developers and large projects; existing mobile‑home park permits are exempt. A staff member said a follow‑up meeting with PDCOG and relevant stakeholders was scheduled for Dec. 10 to address outstanding issues.
Council moved, seconded and carried the extension by voice vote. Officials said they expect to have the required ordinance language ironed out at or soon after the December meeting cycle; staff will provide updates at upcoming meetings.
