The Village of Glendale hosted a ceremonial pinning and swearing-in for Fire Chief Scott Lerman during its December council meeting. The mayor led the community recognition while Chief Lerman and members of the department participated in the badge presentation.
Chief Lerman said that, although he had been sworn earlier to assume duties, the council wanted a public ceremony so residents could attend and see the swearing in. He also noted a brief push-in ceremony for the new fire engine on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 10 a.m., to coincide with the Holiday Home Tour, and invited residents to attend the short event.
The council and audience offered applause and congratulations to the chief. The ceremony was brief and the meeting proceeded to the public-comment agenda.
