Mayor (unnamed) read a proclamation noting that Boyd and Cousins were matched through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati a decade ago and selected this year from thousands of matches nationwide. The proclamation thanked the pair for their years of service and for promoting the benefits of mentoring in the community.
State Representative Karen Brownlee addressed the meeting and connected the recognition to broader civic engagement. “I don't need to tell anyone in the room how important local government is... Big Brothers Big Sisters is a shining example of an organization that does that throughout our entire country,” Brownlee said, urging residents to volunteer and support mentoring programs in the Cincinnati area.
