A motion to table the resolution for further discussion and possible joint committee meetings was made and seconded; the motion carried with one member explicitly opposed. Council directed staff and the committees to schedule a joint Parks and Streets meeting, circulate study materials and highlight resource sections to help the council prepare for a future vote.
Administrator David emphasized the study is a tool to support grant applications and to preserve route options for future consideration; he also said failing to endorse may be read as opposition by Tri State Trails. Council agreed to continue discussion in committee and bring a refined resolution back for consideration.
