Council approves All Decked Out bid for pergola center section, will seek $40,000 spending request

Council members voted to accept the Health & Recreation Committee’s recommendation to award the center section pergola construction to All Decked Out for an amount not to exceed $40,000 and to ask the mayor to prepare a $40,000 spending request for review at the Nov. 10 council meeting.
The committee report described three bids and said the committee unanimously accepted the lowest responsive bid that met the project requirements. Councilors discussed scope details: the village asked that the bid be amended to include the cedar ceiling prior to installation, and to include repair or installation of pillar cap brackets where necessary. All Decked Out will subcontract ceiling work to a separate firm; council members asked staff to obtain a sealant estimate because most sealants require ambient temperatures above roughly 50–55°F.
Finance staff noted funds previously appropriated for the concourse project ($36,300 in 2025) and an additional $18,000 proposed for 2026; council members discussed how the 2025 appropriation and 2026 funds would be used to cover installation and later sealant/ceiling work. The mayor said construction by All Decked Out could begin in late December with ceiling/sealant work following in spring when conditions allow.
Council accepted the committee report and authorized the mayor to execute the 2026 maintenance contract and to prepare the requested spending packet for council consideration. No additional village money was committed beyond the request for council review and the committee’s endorsement.
