Following executive session, the Granbury City Council on Dec. 16 authorized the City Manager to send a letter to the developers of Project Patriot expressing support for annexation and appropriate zoning. The motion was made by Mister Wadley, seconded by Mister Corrigan, and the motion was announced as passing unanimously.
Earlier in the meeting the council discussed personnel items in executive session under Texas Government Code 551.074 (personnel) related to expanding the City Manager department. The council subsequently adopted Ordinance 25-79 amending the General Fund operating budget for fiscal year 2025-26 to create two positions: a Director of Strategic Projects and an Assistant to the City Manager. A motion to adopt the ordinance was made and seconded, and the presiding official announced the ordinance passed "6 and 0."
The executive-session agenda also included items under Texas Government Code sections for consultation with the city attorney, deliberation regarding real property, and economic development negotiations (Project Patriot). The presiding official stated no action was taken while in closed session; the two follow-up actions recorded in open session were the authorized annexation-support letter and the budget amendment to add staff positions.
