Gilliam County Court on Sept. 17 adopted Resolution R‑2025‑17 establishing a Wolf Depredation Advisory Committee intended to provide local input on wolf depredation issues.
After adopting the resolution the court appointed initial members to ensure balance between livestock and conservation perspectives. The court named Jason Campbell and Joseph Campbell to represent livestock producers, and Connie Anderson and Sue Greer to represent conservation interests; terms were set to end Dec. 31, 2029. The resolution provides for the committee to appoint two business representatives at a later date.
Commissioners discussed staggering terms and acknowledged difficulty recruiting applicants; staff said the committee could set appointment timing and future additional appointments. The committee’s role and membership structure were discussed as consistent with other counties that already maintain such advisory bodies.
The resolution and appointments were approved by voice vote. Staff will notify appointees, confirm terms and follow up on any onboarding requirements.
