The Elkhart County Board of Commissioners met Dec. 22, 2025, and moved to withdraw a work order involving Network Solutions so staff could gather more information, the county administrator said. Commissioners also approved payroll and regular claims, accepted a weights-and-measures report, and authorized a three-year maintenance bond tied to the 2025 Community Crossings project with Reeth Riley Construction Company.
County Administrator Jeff Taylor told the board he was removing the Network Solutions item from the agenda. “I wanna withdraw at this time, and the reason for withdrawing it is we need more information and clarity on the work order,” Taylor said. He told commissioners he expected to return the item at a later date after staff follow-up.
Kyle Wagner, identifying himself as affiliated with the Ohio department, described the Community Crossings maintenance bond request and the purpose of the bond. “This is the 3 year maintenance bond,” Wagner said, noting the bond allows the county to require remediation for “any deficiencies that we find within the next 3 years resulting from the work that they've done.” The board moved to approve the bond for Reeth Riley Construction Company; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously.
Earlier in the meeting an unnamed presenter noted that payroll and regular claims had been reviewed and were ready for signatures; a commissioner moved to approve those claims and the motion carried. The board also received and approved a weights-and-measures report covering Nov. 16 to Dec. 16.
There were no public comments or additional board items. The meeting concluded after a motion to adjourn was seconded and approved.
Next steps: Taylor said he would bring the Network Solutions work order back to the commissioners after staff obtain further information. No dates or dollar amounts for the work order or the bond were specified in the meeting record.
