Minnetonka — The City Council moved into closed session at the end of its Dec. study session to review the city manager’s performance.

Mayor Brad Rearsome made the motion to enter closed session "pursuant to Minnesota statute, 13D.05, subdivision 3(a),” and the council conducted a roll-call vote approving the motion. Minutes record the roll call and the council moved into closed session for a personnel review. The motion did not include a publicly recorded second on the audio record and the roll-call responses consisted of affirmative responses recorded by the clerk.

What’s next: The closed-session review is a personnel matter exempt from public discussion; any public report or action required by statute will be issued by the city in accordance with applicable state law and city practice.
