Glendale Heights creates Capital Vision Committee and appoints residents

The Village of Glendale Heights voted Thursday to create a Capital Vision Committee and appointed residents to represent each of six districts alongside three trustees as board members.
Mayor Giannelli described the committee as a long-term advisory group charged with helping the village set development priorities and consider how to use capital funds. The board introduced the resolution (2025-R-141) to appoint representatives including Bruce Barreras (District 1), Daniel Stallings (District 3), Abigail Caskey (District 5) and other named residents; the mayor noted one district appointee (Carmen Castro for District 2) was not present.
Trustees Mohammed Siddiqui (chair), Trustee Light and Trustee Metrasco will serve as the board members on the committee. The resolution was moved, seconded and approved on roll call.
The mayor thanked the appointees for volunteering and said the committee will help the board evaluate development options, funding choices and community priorities.
