School committee approves Tri‑M bylaw changes, several policy revisions and new banner sponsors

At its Nov. 12 meeting the Easton School Committee unanimously approved Tri‑M bylaw updates, new banner sponsors and multiple second‑reading policy actions (DBG, DJG deletion, EFC deletion, JRA edits) and approved multiple sets of minutes; the committee also voted to approve but not release certain executive session minutes.
The Easton School Committee on Nov. 12 voted unanimously to approve a set of organizational and policy items presented at second reading.
The committee accepted redline changes to the Tri‑M (music honor society) bylaws presented by music department chair David Chase. The revisions limit membership to juniors and seniors, raise music‑class GPA requirements and align local language with the national program guide. The motion passed unanimously.
The committee also approved a slate of new banner sponsors used by booster clubs and athletic fundraising. The approved sponsors included (as presented) Colonial Road Runners, Ocean Spray Cranberries, Stonehill College, Thriving Minds ADHD Coaching, Tools Unlimited Inc., and several local businesses.
On policy items, the committee approved second reading of DBG (budget adoption procedures), moved to delete DJG (vendor relations) and EFC (free and reduced‑price food services) because the content is covered elsewhere, and approved edits to JRA (student records) following legal counsel review. Each motion passed on unanimous voice votes.
Additionally, the committee approved minutes for multiple prior meetings (10/09/2025, 10/15/2025, 10/23/2025, 10/28/2025) and voted to approve but not release executive session minutes of 10/23/2025. The meeting concluded with a motion to enter executive session for strategy on negotiations and collective bargaining which carried on a roll call vote.
