Easton Public Schools recognized three seniors at the Dec. 4 school committee meeting for academic distinction and leadership.
Superintendent and Director of Guidance Susan Mancuso announced Aidan Kabir as the recipient of the Massachusetts Association of School Superintendents certificate of academic excellence, citing his strong AP and honors record and extensive extracurricular commitments. Mancuso said Kabir’s transcript includes nine A+ grades in AP courses and 17 A+ grades in honors courses and highlighted his leadership in band and academic clubs.
Mancuso also recognized National School Council Development award recipients Emily Wang and Phalen Ganshert for academic growth, leadership and community service. Mancuso described Wang as “one of the most thoughtful and inquisitive students” active in music, National Honor Society and civic programs. Mancuso read a write-up for Ganshert, noting her work commitments, volunteer work with animal organizations and plans to study pre-veterinary or wildlife biology.
The committee invited the students and their families to join the meeting for photographs and acknowledged notifying colleges of the honors. The recognitions were presented prior to the meeting’s business items and required no committee votes.
