Carroll County officials reviewed administrative items, ordinance codification and operations details during their Dec. 23 meeting.
The county attorney (Speaker 2) told the board "the ordinance book, classification is ready for review," and said Roger would distribute the materials so the board could plan for a first reading in January. Board members were asked to email comments to the attorney and copy Roger for any questions or suggested changes.
Scheduling conflicts for mandatory training were discussed in the context of setting a work session to consider a solar ordinance. After discussing available dates, the board tentatively agreed to a January 20 work session with a 1:00–4:00 p.m. window, pending confirmation. As recorded, Speaker 2 said, "So I will 01:00 hour," and Speaker 1 confirmed a 1:00–4:00 p.m. slot as the likely window.
On operational matters, Speaker 1 updated the board on public works, saying crews have been "working pretty much around the clock" and that the county "probably went through a lot more salt" earlier in the season than usual; he noted there is a possibility the county would need to order additional salt if further snow or ice events occur.
The meeting closed with brief district remarks, staff thanks and holiday wishes. The transcript does not include final deadlines for codification adoption nor recorded vote tallies on scheduling; several lines were garbled and some speaker attributions and exact names in the record are unclear.
