Security audit finds missing weekly door-sweep logs at two campuses; district orders corrective action

The San Felipe-Del Rio CISD board on Dec. 15 received an intruder-detection audit that identified two findings related to weekly door-sweep documentation at two campuses, and district security leadership described immediate corrective steps.
Chief (presented as Chief Foss/Fass) said auditors found the weekly door-sweep log missing for two specific weeks at Robert (Bobby) Barrera STEM Magnet (week of Oct. 20 and Oct. 27) and noted an inability to view the weekly door log for Nov. 3 at Seneca Hills Elementary. The chief said corrective actions were assigned and that work sessions with campus staff occurred Dec. 8 to review weekly door-sweep procedures and to include corrective-action documentation in the submission to the Texas Education Agency. He told trustees his office will now monitor door logs weekly going forward.
Board members asked whether monitoring would be done at the campus level or by district staff. The chief replied he would perform district-level review and communicate findings up the chain. No votes were required that evening; the chief described the corrective actions and provided a Jan. 4 due date for one of the corrective steps.
The board did not take additional open-session action beyond receiving the report and asking clarifying questions. Administration said the corrective actions will be included in the district's TEA submission and that the district will continue weekly monitoring to ensure compliance.
