San Felipe-Del Rio CISD outlines strategic plan goals through 2030

San Felipe-Del Rio CISD staff presented the district’s strategic plan update Monday, detailing goals through May 2030 across finance and operations, leadership, instruction, innovation and student supports.
Sandra Hernandez told the board that the strategic plan remains "the driving force" for the district and outlined accomplishments, including a balanced budget for the 2025–26 school year and an increase in teacher-incentive allotment participation. Hernandez said the district gained additional teachers and master teachers through the incentive allotment and plans to revise the scoring rubric and application to add tested areas such as elementary math.
Hernandez also described next steps: engaging the teaching community on the teacher incentive allotment; developing a leadership pipeline through professional development for assistant principals and aspiring administrators; implementing curriculum reviews to target content areas with lower state averages; and expanding innovative programs such as New Tech Middle School STEM and dual-language strands with grant support. She said the district will continue to use data trackers and MTSS to monitor student interventions and progress.
Board members asked clarifying questions and praised progress. No formal action was required for this presentation; it was presented as an update to guide upcoming planning work.
