The Plan Commission approved deferrals for two items in new business: Rossman Partners’ preliminary PUD for a retail/fuel/warehouse site on US‑30 (petitioned by Rossman Partners/Schilling Brothers) and Liberty Estates Phase 8 (final PUD) submitted by Randy Hall.
Ryan Toringa of Toringa Engineering reported that the Rossman petition required IN DOT/US‑30 improvements and that the petitioner had requested a deferral; commissioners discussed possible town engineering support for Randolph Street improvements and agreed to defer so the petitioner and town staff could align on the scope of work. The motion to defer Rossman’s item passed by voice vote.
For Liberty Estates Phase 8, staff read a letter from petitioner Randy Hall requesting a 30‑day deferral to finish engineering; the commission moved and seconded and approved the deferral by voice vote.
Both items will return to the commission when petitioners and staff have addressed the outstanding engineering and right‑of‑way concerns.
