The chief also stated his concern that dry hydrants become unreliable over time without inspection and maintenance.
Commission members said the letter was new information that required further action from the petitioner. Commissioner Sean Pettit moved for a 60‑day deferral; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The petitioner agreed to review the fire‑protection scheme, provide the commission a copy of the chief’s comments, and return at the deferred meeting (the commission discussed scheduling for February).
