Warren County commissioners voted to approve Resolution 3320, a fiscal-year 2025 modification of the county’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) budget, after holding a short public hearing.
County staff explained the change stems from a Sheridan Street stormwater improvement project that came in under budget; $25,000 will be removed from that project and reallocated to a Spring Creek park handicap-parking project and the countywide housing rehabilitation program. Staff said the state asked the county to complete the contractual cleanup now rather than after executing next-year contracts. "We had a project underway ... that came in significantly under budget, so we need to move some money around," said Speaker 3 during the hearing.
No members of the public offered comments during the hearing. Commissioners closed the hearing and approved the resolution by voice vote.
The vote formalizes a routine federal CDBG budget adjustment required by program regulations. Staff said the county intends to use the housing rehab allocation to run a winter program so projects are ready in spring. The county said it will follow federal CDBG requirements for the modification and contract reporting.
The next procedural step is usual execution of the contract amendments and reporting to the state and federal CDBG administrators.
