The Des Moines County Board of Supervisors took several formal actions at its Dec. 16 meeting.
Resolution 2025-63 (Ord. No. 64 public hearing): The board adopted Res. 2025-63 to set public hearings on the revised Wind, Solar and Battery Ordinance (Ord. No. 64). Hearings are scheduled for Jan. 6 and Jan. 13, 2026 (9 a.m.); the Jan. 20 reading may be waived. The county auditor was directed to publish notice as required by law. White Stone Allied Subdivision (Res. 2025-265): The board accepted the final plan after staff described a narrowed legal description to preserve courthouse parking and an easement to allow future retaining-wall maintenance; the board approved the resolution by voice vote.
Conveyance of 522 North 3rd Street (Res. 2025-47): The board approved transferring the property at 522 North 3rd Street (Brooklyn, Iowa) to David Hazel, the winning bidder, and authorized signatures to complete the conveyance.
Board of Health appointments: The board appointed volunteers to the Des Moines County Board of Health, including Dr. Fran Jackson, Deb Trostel (Trostel in packet), Max Turner and Ray Wilson. Board members noted these are unpaid volunteer positions.
Payroll and personnel: The board approved payroll reimbursements and claims totaling $364.55 and approved two unpaid leave personnel actions in public health (an LPN and a CNA with listed dates and eight unpaid hours each).
