At Tuesday's meeting Danville CCSD 118 approved a two-year contract with Jimmy Casas & Associates to continue leadership and climate work across district schools and central office.
The contract terms discussed called for $49,500 in year one and $47,000 in year two, to be paid from Title I funds, and the district said the work will include principal and leadership supports and strategic-planning assistance. The superintendent (speaker introducing the item) noted this is the second year working with Casas and said principals asked to continue the partnership. A board member asked for examples of the consultant's work; district staff described organizational-chart work, strategic planning and principals'team sessions. The board approved the contract by roll call (motion carries 7-0).
Also approved via the recently adopted consent agenda was the hire of Megan Mattingly as Danville High School athletic director. Mark Bassey, director of district athletics, summarized Mattingly's playing career and administrative experience and said her start date will be Dec. 8. Mattingly addressed the board and thanked administrators and community members, citing a late colleague, Mr. Grinton, as inspiration.
Separately, the board approved the treasurer's report and the minutes (minutes vote recorded as 6 in favor, 1 abstention).
