On facilities, Johnston reported the district selected KCBA as architect with Snyder Hoffman as the MEP engineering partner for the high‑school renovation. Site visits are underway during winter break to assess mechanical, electrical and plumbing needs; the district plans to remove eight modular classrooms and is analyzing how much additional permanent classroom space will be required. Johnston said architects will meet faculty by department in January, the board will see concepts in February, and community engagement will follow.
Johnston framed both items as measured, collaborative efforts: the AI work will be informed by community and evidence; the renovation will be guided by capacity analysis, teacher input and cost estimates before the board and community see firm proposals.
