Board adopts routine curriculum, personnel, finance, buildings and policy resolutions
Summary
On consent, the board approved committee recommendations across curriculum (CI1–CI12), personnel (P15–P42), finance (A1–A8), buildings (BG1–BG4) and policy (PO1) by roll-call votes; discussion on several items was minimal.
The Hawthorne Board of Education approved a slate of committee-backed resolutions at its Dec. 16 meeting covering curriculum, personnel, finance, buildings and policy.
On a motion from the curriculum and instruction committee, the board moved CI1 through CI12 for approval; the motion was seconded and carried by roll call. The personnel committee moved personnel resolutions P15–P42 (hires, resignations and retirements) which the board approved after brief discussion. The finance committee’s A1–A8 items and buildings-and-grounds BG1–BG4 were likewise moved and adopted. Policy item PO1 was presented by the policy committee and approved by the board.
Roll calls were recorded for the votes. Several committee chairs and board members briefly noted gratitude for grant-seeking and staff work; one trustee specifically thanked administration for applying for a New Jersey Department of Education grant of $8,700 cited in committee discussion. No controversial policy changes or contested votes were recorded in the public transcript.
The approvals permit the administration to implement the routine actions and to proceed with the projects and staffing changes described in the committee materials.
