Mount Healthy library to open new branch Nov. 2; final Book Brigade planned Oct. 17

Lacey Worley, branch manager of the Mount Healthy Public Library, told the council on Oct. 15 that the library will officially open at 7700 Hamilton Avenue on Nov. 2.
Worley outlined the transition timeline: full services will pause Oct. 26; Oct. 28–30 the branch will be open for holds pickup only (no browsing, public computers or printing); and the branch will be closed Oct. 31–Nov. 1 to complete the move. The council and staff were invited to a staff‑only sneak‑peek event on Nov. 1 and a public grand‑opening with a ribbon cutting and family activities on Nov. 2.
Worley also described a community 'Book Brigade' (final book movement) ceremony on Oct. 17 to symbolize the branch’s transition and said a memory board and historic photos will be available at the current location for residents to visit before the move. She thanked the council for its support and encouraged residents to visit neighboring branches for limited services during the move period.
Councilmembers asked logistical questions about invitations and volunteer involvement; staff said details for volunteer sign-up and event scheduling will be shared closer to the opening.
