Moreno Valley opens Flight Deck Bike Park; city says it is Southern California’s largest pump track

Mayor Ulysses Cabrera and the Moreno Valley City Council on Thursday cut the ribbon on the Flight Deck Bike Park, the city announced. City officials described the new facility as Southern California’s largest pump track and said it is intended to serve riders of all ages and skill levels.

City promotional material and the event announcement list asphalt jump lines and multiple pump-track circuits as the park’s primary features, and the facility includes a separate bicycle playground for very young riders. The park’s name reflects Moreno Valley’s aviation heritage, city materials said.

The opening drew bike enthusiasts from across the region; riders began demonstrating tricks immediately after the ribbon cutting, and the announcement said skateboarders and rollerbladers also used the space. The presentation named local rider Eddie Theola as an example of the kind of experienced rider the park expects to attract.
