A representative from Supervisor Lindsay Horvath’s office told Topanga residents the county will host ReadyFest on Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with about 50 vendors, workshops and participation from the fire chief and county supervisor.
Daniel DiFucci, speaking for the supervisor’s office, said the supervisor and a partnering supervisor passed a board motion to provide rental relief for fire‑impacted areas and immigrant communities. "That is, in total, going to be about $30,000,000 of support," DiFucci said, adding that the Department of Consumer and Business Affairs (DCBA) is setting up program details and has up to 90 days to make payments available.
The supervisor’s office also said it will perform outreach to ensure Topanga residents are included in the roll‑out; the office offered to coordinate with the town council on messaging for residents who may be eligible. Residents were encouraged to contact the supervisor’s office for assistance and to monitor county project pages for more details.
Next steps: DCBA will finalize program procedures and outreach; the supervisor’s office expects notifications and targeted outreach to Topanga once the program is set up.
