The Kootenai County Board of Commissioners voted Dec. 23 to rescind an earlier Nov. 12 tax-cancellation order and approve a corrected tax cancellation for AIN106318 after staff discovered the amounts recorded in county systems did not match.

An assessor’s office representative identified in the record as "COVAX" told the board the discrepancy dated to 2018 and that staff had prepared a replacement document marked "rescind" that references the prior cancellation as an exhibit. Legal counsel reviewed the corrected form, the assessor said, and staff requested the board rescind the Nov. 12 action and approve the replacement cancellation.

A motion to rescind and replace the earlier cancellation was made and seconded; the board approved the request by voice vote. County staff said the action corrects the official record but did not provide detailed line-item figures during the meeting.
