What council said
During discussion of the bridge contract and adjacent items, council and staff highlighted the LMM excursion’s strong seasonal business and brainstormed noncontractual ways (themed engines, coupon flyers, shuttles) to encourage visiting passengers to spend time and money downtown. “They operate pretty independently and rightly so,” one council member said about the train operators, adding the city should still explore ways to connect visitors to local shops.
Next steps
Approved contracts and resolutions will proceed to implementation and administrative steps: executing the Eagle Ridge contract, processing the ODOT LPA agreement and grant administration, and carrying out budget transfers described in Ordinance 2025-124. Engineering, procurement and financial staff will handle project-level actions and reporting.
