Burbank resident warns of looming voucher expirations; staff offers help

Council and staff responded immediately: staff signaled an available housing staff contact and the Community Development Department confirmed follow‑up. Patrick Prescott, community development director, said the vouchers are emergency housing vouchers originally funded by federal ARPA resources and that funding availability ran out sooner than expected; staff said they had provided advance notice so recipients could plan and that they are working to transition affected households to other housing options.
Council encouraged impacted residents to call the housing division hotline (818‑238‑5180) and to follow up with staff in the meeting for immediate assistance. No formal policy action was taken at the meeting; staff said they would try to assist affected individuals.
