Commission honors local educators, volunteers and sports team at final 2025 meeting

Commissioner Rawls introduced a resolution recognizing the Keeping David Landis Alive blood drive, noting the drive’s history since 2013 and the presenter’s estimate that roughly 1,400 units have been collected to date (the presenter characterized that total as saving approximately 4,200 lives). David Landis thanked the commission and asked community members to donate on the first Wednesday of every November.
Commissioner Jay presented a resolution commending OneKnox Sporting Club for winning the 2025 USL League One championship at Covenant Health Park; Drew McKinnon (the club’s managing partner, as introduced at the meeting) thanked the commission and credited the stadium project and county support for enabling the club’s success.
All three resolutions were adopted by voice vote.
