Council awards Merrill Road traffic signal and Main Street widening bids

Merrill Road traffic signal: City Engineer Paul Mogul reported that three bids were received for installation of a full traffic signal (including striping and a right‑turn pocket on Washington Fields Road). Staff recommended the low responsive bid from Interstate Rock for $278,834; the council approved the award by roll call. The project schedule depends on signal component availability from UDOT warehouse (parts may delay start to February).
Main Street widening: Mogul described work including 93,370 sq ft of asphalt, 435 ft of curb and gutter, roughly 2,000 sq ft of sidewalk and restriping. Seven competitive bids were received; the low bid from Advance Construction & Design for $125,345 was approved unanimously by council. The contractor has 30 days to mobilize after bond and bonding documents.
