The board treated the regulation as a regulation (not an ordinance) and discussed implementation steps rather than formal approval at the meeting; members said the item will be brought forward as an action item in January for finalization.
In routine business, the board approved a two‑hour early dismissal on Dec. 19 by motion and voice vote. The board also approved the appointment of Amanda Edwards, described in the presentation as a parent and member of the medical community, to a special‑education advisory subcommittee; staff noted her availability beginning in January when committee meetings are rescheduled.
The board also reviewed proposed revisions to policy GCBB (staff supplementary pay and plans), noting the last major revisions occurred in 2000 and 2013 and that current pay scales were updated to remain competitive.
