The Box Elder School District foundation reported its recent golf tournament generated gross receipts of $31,006.42 and, after expenses of just under $8,000, produced net proceeds of $23,713.55 to support foundation programs.
Unidentified Speaker 3, who presented the tournament recap, said the event drew more teams than in recent years though four paid teams did not attend in person. "Our total net for what we cleared: $23,713.55," the speaker reported. Organizers credited volunteer fundraising during play: Unidentified Speaker 1 noted Ryan collected an additional $250 from golfers by moving around the course, and Unidentified Speaker 3 thanked board member Brian Walker for running the tournament operations.
Speakers recommended requiring RSVPs next year so the course will not charge for no-shows and to improve food ordering. The board also highlighted auction and giveaway successes — a large-screen TV prize and a Key Club contest brought in additional receipts, and organizers plan to replicate profitable elements next year.
The foundation said tournament proceeds will help teacher funding and student wellness accounts, subject to the board's follow-up accounting and the direction on which grants or accounts will receive the funds.
