Monona updates: two police hires announced and 'Shop with a Cop' returns

He described Monona’s recruitment success as a reflection of the city’s reputation and community support for officers.
The Chief also described the community-backed Shop with a Cop program, which pairs officers with children identified by school staff for a holiday shopping experience funded by local businesses and donors. He thanked Winnequah school staff and local donors for supporting the program and noted volunteers from the department assist outside of paid duty.
What happens next: Officer Adrian Allen is scheduled to be sworn in Dec. 2; Sam Bachman will attend the academy and be sworn Jan. 2, then begin part-time duty and training.
