Summary

The City Administrator asked council to approve a proposal from BDS Environmental for asbestos testing and abatement at the former VFW Post 1888 site in the amount of $48,200. The council moved and supported the proposal and it passed by unanimous consent.
Separately, Parks & Recreation Director Dave Beaker (identified in the packet) presented bids for lighting replacement at the Westfield Center. After review, LMC Electric submitted the lowest qualified bid at $39,891.51. Council voted to award the lighting replacement to LMC Electric and also authorized spending up to a total of $55,000 to add additional lighting and electrical outlets as needed during the renovation.
Both motions were moved and supported and recorded as unanimously ordered.
What’s next: Staff will execute the abatement work with BDS Environmental and coordinate LMC Electric’s mobilization for the Westfield Center lighting replacement.
