Board says IDEM audit found most items adequate; staff to update MS4 map for April report

Burns Harbor Stormwater Board members were briefed on the results of a recent Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) audit and on required updates to the town's MS4 annual report. A board member said she and Brandon met with two IDEM representatives, the agency inspected facilities and "most of the subjects were either checked off as adequate or sufficient," and the audit report is now part of the board's files.
Staff noted a map change requested by IDEM: add linework showing swales along roads where a small pipe had been previously shown and include that change in the MS4 annual report that staff said will be submitted to IDEM by April. "I will work on that and then include that in the April annual report," the staff member said.
The board had no substantive questions about the audit during the meeting. The update is administrative: staff will revise the map per IDEM's request, finalize the report, and file it by the April deadline.
