Resident says tree removal and trail work caused flooding as RDC reviews Marquette Greenway repairs

During public comment, Laura of 1250 Collins Street said the trail work has caused flooding onto her property and that a tree was removed without advance notice. "They took our tree down without telling us," Laura said, adding that she had not been contacted to sign any permission and that she had not received emails or calls. Town staff responded that a temporary easement used during earlier trail work had expired and that staff would follow up and formally contact her about permission and any needed written releases.
Commissioners also discussed an easement-right‑of‑way issue on the McCullough property that had expired, which staff said complicates access for some remediation tasks. The commission agreed to seek engineering documentation from Soil Solutions and to continue the wetland and remediation discussion at the next meeting once additional information is available.
The commission did not take final action on trail design or property access tonight; staff said they would obtain and circulate the engineer verification and would formally reach out to Laura about the tree removal and permission paperwork.
