Lorain County approves workforce MOU; director says program expanded outreach and hiring events

Workforce director Mr. Blevins told commissioners the office recently co‑hosted a regional hiring event that drew roughly 2,000 attendees and 175 employers and described new outreach tools (a platform called 'Engage by Cell') to improve communication with participants.
Why it matters: commissioners said the MOU aims to reduce duplication of services and align training efforts with employer demand, including stackable certificates and targeted credentials tied to local needs. Mr. Blevins said the Perkins Act and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act structure local program operations and reporting.
