Issaquah presents citywide asset-management update and launches Cartograph software

Issaquah staff on Dec. 1 gave the City Council an informational update on a multi-year asset-management project and the rollout of Cartograph, a GIS-based software tool intended to consolidate disparate departmental asset records and support planning and maintenance.
Deputy City Administrator Andrea Leonard said the initiative grew from the city's strategic plan infrastructure goal and took about three years and contributions from more than 200 staff members across public works, parks, facilities and finance. The new policies and software integrate maintenance tracking with the City's C Clicks fix work-order system and the financial system, enabling staff to capture equipment-level costs, labor hours and to create GIS layers for storm-damaged trees and other assets.
Presenters described practical uses already in place: tracking equipment consumables (for example, leaf blowers and mower batteries), improving water-system flushing data and mapping storm damage from the recent bomb cyclone so crews can schedule removals and replanting. Staff said Cartograph will improve costs estimates for maintenance programs and inform capital planning.
Leonard recognized the project team at the meeting and asked staff involved to stand. Council thanked staff for the work and noted the update was informational; no council action was requested or taken.
