Commissioners reviewed the draft recreation commission bylaws and agreed there are multiple items that need revision, including the vision and mission language, role definitions for chair/vice-chair/secretary, alternate appointment dates and the appointment process. Several members suggested removing "core values" and simplifying to a clear mission and vision statement.
The board decided to collect edits in a shared Google document so every member can annotate proposed changes. A subcommittee composed of the chair, vice chair and one additional commissioner will reconcile comments and prepare a consolidated draft to present to the full commission at a later meeting. Commissioners also requested that relevant statutory citations (RSA references) be appended to the document for clarity.
No formal bylaw vote occurred; commissioners agreed that the consolidated draft will be circulated for review and then placed on a future agenda for formal consideration and a possible vote once members have had a chance to comment and the subcommittee has combined edits.
