Local resident tells commission decisions 'do affect citizens' and urges school consideration

A.C. Lopez, who identified himself and gave an address, used his three minutes of public comment Dec. 8 to thank commissioners who reached out with condolences following a recent bereavement and to remind the commission that its decisions affect individual citizens in District 75.
Lopez said many commissioners had contacted him and that the gestures "mean something" to residents. He urged the commission to bear in mind the human impact of policymaking and also suggested—directly to the commission and as a request to the school board—that Freedom Elementary or another elementary school in Montgomery County be considered for a community project or recognition (transcript phrase: "turning Freedom Elementary or another elementary school in Montgomery County into the jet per cart elementary").
